Jean NTAZINDA holds a bachelor degree in geography with major in environmental planning from National University of Rwanda (ur.ac.rw), did graduate studies in International Development Administration at Andrews University-Michigan, USA (andrews.edu) and has post-graduate Climate Change Diplomacy from Diplo-Foundation-Malta (diplomacy.edu). He is career wise equipped with capacity in project design and management, stakeholders’ engagement, matching business development and government programs.
Prior to starting Climate Concern Ltd in 2012, Jean NTAZINDA worked for Rwanda Environment Management Authority for 2.5 years as Project manager of a capacity building project for Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) under Kyoto Protocol. Before taking role of a country director for 2 years at delAgua.org in 2013, he participated in design and implementation of its UNFCCC registered CDM programme of activities (PoA) between May 2012-May 2013. From 2016 to date Jean spends his time on consulting work in environment related projects with much focus on climate change adaptation. In the most recent years, he worked on development Climate Change projects supported by GCF, UNDP, GEF and World Bank.
Jean NTAZINDA has a good understanding of legal framework and institutional arrangement of environment and climate change at national and international level.
Ms. Mary Alice Bamusiime
Consultant. Gender Specialist in Natural Resources and Agriculture
Ms. Bamusiime has more than 15 years of experience related to gender mainstreaming in natural resources and agriculture, gender based violence, renewable energy, gender mainstreaming of policies, projects and programs, conducting baselines and needs assessment studies, developing gender mainstreaming strategies as well as developing training modules and training on women empowerment.
Alice has worked with USAID/Land O’ lakes Program on the Rwanda Dairy Competitiveness Program II charged with ensuring that gender is integrated in all project activities with particular focus on female empowerment and Cooperative/ farmers organizations development, champion in Environmental compliance. Since then Alice has been a consultant mainly in the area of gender mainstreaming in natural resources and environmental conservation, as well as rural development and agriculture.
Most recently, she has also participated in the UNDP and REMA baseline Surveys on landscape restoration in Mayaga as a gender and socio-economic expert in charge of five (5) baselines; socio-economic, gender analysis and gender action Plan, Stakeholders analysis and Sustainable land management and sustainable forest management. Alice has Masters of Development Gender and Rural development and BA in social Sciences Gender and development from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. Ms. Bamusiime is fluent in English, Kinyarwanda, Kiswahili as well as basic working knowledge of French.
Mr. Peter Katanisa
Economist (Environment and Natural Resource Management Specialist).
Mr. Katanisa has nine years of experience related to environment and climate change, land, forests, water resources policy and strategies development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. In addition, he has significant experience in national tourism development, Public Private Partnership, Development Project Management and Finance Management
Mr. Katanisa has provided advisory, technical assistance/consulting services to the Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Natural Resources to ensure effective functioning and coordination of Rwanda’s Environment and Natural Resource Sector.
He has lead Conservation and Tourism product development while working in Rwanda’s Tourism Research and Development. Mr. Katanisa has conducted environment and natural resources research, analysis and delivered presentations on the role of environment, natural resources, Natural Capital Accounting (NCA) and tourism in country development. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management; a bachelor’s degree in economics sciences; a certificate in Strategic Environment Assessment (SEA), a certificate in project finance appraisal, a Certificate in Hospitality Management and; Certificate in Community-based Tourism. Mr. Katanisa is fluent in English, French and Kinyarwanda.

Amos KIIZA has a specialization in public law. I am a qualified and experienced legislative drafter and my clients are mainly public institutions. I share a belief with Napoleon Bonaparte that a law should be clear, precise, and unambiguous and interpreting it means allowing distortions. In the same vein, A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, and a paragraph no unnecessary sentences, for the same reason that a machine should have no unnecessary parts (William Strunk). My knowledge on Rwandan legal framework, infrastructure policies and laws and the ability to draft well have put me in limelight that most of Institutions request me to draft for them or assist their drafters to structure well the Bills of law. I have a working experience of over 9 years in infrastructure projects and laws mainly energy, transport and environment with a focus on traffic laws and environmental laws. I have worked with various public institutions especially Ministries in drafting many infrastructure policies and laws.
Dominique Kayigire
Partner and Lead Natural Resources Consultant
Dominique KAYIGIRE is a partner and Natural Resources consultant at Climate Concern Ltd. He holds an MSc in Geo-Science for Environment and Sustainable Development from the University of Rwanda. Dominique is a co-designer of EnviroFlag, a Climate Concern Ltd program that supports projects and businesses to comply with their environmental commitments in the course of their operations. Before devoting his full time to EnviroFlag and Climate Concern Ltd, Dominique occupied a number of positions in the sphere of natural resources governance in public, private and intergovernmental institutions for the past nine years. He served as the Rwanda Country Manager at RCS Global Group, an internationally credited in the audits of supply chains linking minerals, metal producers and refiners. Rwandan registered and practicing environmental consultant, Dominique worked as the Coordinator of mineral certification in then Rwanda Ministry of Natural Resources. With funds mostly from the EU and USAID, he technically contributed much at policy-making level for the introduction of the Regional Certification Mechanism for minerals in many of the 12 ICGLR member states.

Mr. RWIYAMIRIRA has a University Degree in Financial and Administrative Management; Entrepreneurship Option. He has a Diploma in Business Management. He has a certificate in National IWRM (Integrated Water Resource Management). Mr. Jean Bosco RWIYAMIRIRA is an Entrepreneur in energy sector as the Founder and Managing Director of RECO (Rwanda Energy Development Company) and a Business Manager. As a consultant (Household Energy Expert /Sustainable Development Auditor for ICSs projects), he has delivered reports on various ICSs projects in Rwanda including: the Africa Biomass Energy Conservation (Rwanda Biomass Conservation) African Cook stoves and water program, Improved Kitchen Regime multi-County PoA(program of activities). He has also delivered a Baseline Study on Household Energy in the Mayaga region in Rwanda. At national level, he has 10 years of experience related to energy projects development as energy private developer and in energy policy and strategies development. A regional level, he successfully participated as a contributor and reviewer in the EAC Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Status Report 2016– Expert Peer Review, he participated in the all process of setting up of the EACREEE (East African Centre of Excellence for Renewable Energy and Efficiency). He is an observer in the African union Commission energy meetings and Africa development bank annual meetings.
